hiiiiiii I'm about to post Maisy's intro but I wanted to contact you specifically since Fred is not only Maisy's roommate but also another local childe, which means they've known each other since kindergarten at LEAST. there is so much room for ~history~
They're both kind of loud-mouth weirdos so I feel like they definitely jointly got in trouble for "disrupting class" or WHATEVER. i think baby maisy definitely would have been very entertained by fred's storytelling and happy to play along sometimes, but they're also both super stubborn and steamroller-y, so i can see them butting heads too. maybe like contentious friends? on-again-off again friends?
sorry i fucked off to finally finish my damn petitions but yeesssssssss. that sounds like a VERY good assessment of them!!! they have a lot of similar-but-different interests too. (fred, somehow, thinks she is VERY fashionable.)
i picture fred spending a lot of time wandering around town as a kid poking at all the magic doohickey whatevers since it was super muggley at home after they moved to the town-proper and was definitely in junebugs lots. (fred's mom's side is long-time nearby hedgey wiz-ag hillfolk, so there's probably been lots of intermingling through the years between them and the morgenstern women.)
